First Aid training is a compulsory element of training for all cadets.
In addition to the obvious practical advantages of having an understanding of First Aid, cadets can participate in First Aid competitions.
All First Aid training in the Air Training Corps follows the St John Ambulance syllabus.
First Aid is taught in evening sessions and occasionally at a 2 day weekend course. After training the cadets are assessed on their knowledge and practical abilities which include resuscitation techniques, dealing with wounds and shock and general casualty care.
If they pass the assessment they can wear the St Johns Youth First Aid Badge on their brassard.
