A key part of the Air Training Corp’s association with the RAF is the provision of visits to RAF stations in the UK and abroad.

Spend a week with the Royal Air Force, in the great outdoors or taking part in a host of activities. These camps offer experiences that simply cannot be experienced in purely civilian organisations and the memory’s from these camps will last for the rest of your life. Alternatively there are the Air Cadet Adventure Camps in Wales and the Lake District if you prefer Hill Walking, Rock Climbing, Kayaking to name some of the exciting challenges available at these camps.

1895 Cromer Squadron has visited a variety of camps here are a few:

  • RAF Marham
  • RAF St. Mawgan
  • RAF Valley
  • Llanbedr Adventure Training Camp
  • Windermere Adventure Training Camp
  • And Many More…

Some of the opportunities experienced in previous camps include:

  • A flight along the Cornish coast in an RAF Sea King.
  • A flight in an RAF Squirrel Helicopter.
  • Air Experience Flying (You are given control) in ATC Grob Tutors.
  • An hour in a Hercules flight simulator.
  • And you’ve guessed it, much much more…

Most cadets from our squadron attend at the very least 2 camps in their cadet careers and often a fair few more than that so if you join you can be sure of getting a similar experience as above. There is a moderate charge for these camps to cover food, accommodation and transport however these are kept as low as possible. For instance a recent RAF station camp to RAF Shawbury only cost £50 and that included three full meals a day, accommodation, travel and all the activity’s conducted over the course of the week.

Every year a small amount of lucky cadets experience the chance to go abroad on camp.

Overseas camps include Gibraltar and Cyprus as well as the International Air Cadet Exchange scheme which sees Air Cadets from all over the world visiting each other.
